Healthy and tasty Moong Dal Cheela recipe


Cheela is a very favorite breakfast of us Indians. Although people eat it for breakfast, you can make it anytime when you feel like eating something tasty and healthy. It also comes as a delicious option during the rainy season. Although cheela can be made in many ways, today we will learn to make cheela from moong dal. Moong dal is very beneficial for the stomach and is also very tasty to eat. So let's start making it:


Moong Dal Cheela Recipe


Ingredients:

  • 1 cup moong dal, soaked for 3-4 hours

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 small tomato, finely chopped

  • 1 green chilli, finely chopped

  • 2 tablespoons fresh coriander leaves, chopped

  • 1/2 tablespoons turmeric powder

  • Ginger one inch (grated)

  • Salt to taste

  • Water as needed to make the batter

  • Oil for cooking


Method of making:

  • Strain the soaked moong dal and grind it well in a mixer jar after adding some water to prepare a smooth batter.

  • Place the moong dal batter in a mixing bowl. Add chopped onions, tomatoes, green chilies, coriander leaves, grated ginger, turmeric, and salt, and mix well.

  • If the batter seems too thick, dilute it by adding some water.

  • Heat a non-stick pan and apply a little oil on it.

  • Pour a ladle of batter into the pan and spread it evenly.

  • Cook it on medium flame, when its bottom surface starts to turn light brown, flip it and cook the other side as well.

  • Serve it hot with green chili chutney, sour chutney, or curd.

Some tips to make the perfect chilla:


  • Make sure the batter is smooth and thick like pancake batter. Too thin or too thick will not make the chilla good.

  • Cook the chilla on medium heat to ensure it cooks well.

  • For extra nutrition and variety, you can also add other vegetables like grated zucchini, palak, capsicum, or chopped cabbage.

  • Use less oil while making it. You can use a non-stick pan for this.
