Healthy and Tasty Stir-Fried Broccoli with Garlic

Broccoli is a nutrient-rich vegetable that can be prepared with minimal ingredients. It can be prepared in many ways. It is very tasty when prepared by stir-frying it with garlic. Including broccoli in your diet gives you many benefits. It is beneficial for our health and is also full of taste. It can be eaten as a side dish or a light meal. Let's see how it is prepared:



Ingredients to make Stir-Fried Broccoli:

  • 2 medium heads of broccoli (about 500g), cut into florets

  • 4-5 garlic cloves, thinly sliced or minced

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or any healthy oil)

  • 1/4 tsp black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for spice)

  • 1 tsp lemon juice

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds (for garnish)

  • Fresh coriander or parsley for garnish 


Healthy and Tasty Stir-Fried Broccoli with Garlic

Method of making Stir-Fried Broccoli with Garlic:

  • Firstly wash the broccoli florets thoroughly and drain the water.

  • Now blanch the broccoli florets in boiling water for 3-4 minutes until they become soft but still bright green and crisp. Drain the water and keep it aside.

  • Heat oil in a pan and keep the gas on medium flame.

  • Add thinly sliced ​​or chopped garlic to the pan and saute it while stirring for about 30 seconds until the garlic becomes aromatic and starts to turn golden (be careful not to burn it).

  • Now add the blanched broccoli florets and mix well.

  • Sprinkle black pepper, chili flakes, and salt over the broccoli and saute it while stirring for 2-3 minutes over medium flame.

  • Saute it until the broccoli is cooked evenly and covered with the spices.

  • After 2-3 minutes turn off the flame and pour lemon juice over the broccoli and mix lightly.

  • Sprinkle sesame seeds for crunch and garnish with fresh coriander or parsley.

  • You can have it as a healthy side dish.


Some tips:


  • You can add some cooked tofu, paneer, or grilled chicken to make this a more filling meal. This allows you to have it at mealtime.

  • Add cumin powder or paprika for a slightly different flavor. This makes it taste amazing.

  • This simple stir-fried broccoli dish is full of fibre, vitamins, and antioxidants, making it a great addition to any meal.
