Healthy Palak (Spinach) Cheela recipe

Spinach contains iron, vitamins C and E, potassium, and magnesium in adequate amounts. Many types of dishes are made from spinach which is also beneficial for our health. Today we will make spinach cheela. It is delicious to eat and is also very good for our health. Let's start making it.



Ingredients:

  • 1 cup besan (gram flour)

  • 1 cup finely chopped spinach (palak)

  • 1 small onion, finely chopped

  • 1 green chili, finely chopped 

  • 2 tbsp fresh coriander leaves, chopped

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric powder

  • 1-inch ginger peace (grated) (optional)

  • Salt to taste

  • Water to make the batter

  • Oil for cooking



Method of making palak cheela

  • Combine besan, chopped spinach, onion, green chili, coriander leaves, cumin seeds, grated ginger, turmeric powder, and salt in a mixing bowl.

  • Slowly add water to it and prepare a smooth batter.

  • Heat a non-stick pan and apply a little oil on it.

  • Pour some batter into the pan and spread it evenly.

  • Keep the flame medium. When it is slightly cooked from the bottom, flip it and apply a little oil on its sides.

  • Flip and cook well on both sides.

  • Eat it hot with green chutney, you will find it very tasty.

Some tips to make the perfect chilla:


  • Make sure the batter is smooth and thick like pancake batter. Too thin or too thick will not make the chilla good.

  • Cook the chilla on medium heat to ensure it cooks well.

  • For extra nutrition and variety, you can also add other vegetables like grated zucchini, palak, capsicum, or chopped cabbage.

  • Use less oil while making it. You can use a non-stick pan for this.
