Quick and Easy Masala Cauliflower

Cauliflower is a versatile and nutritious vegetable that belongs to the cruciferous family, which also includes broccoli and cabbage. It is known for its mild flavor and slightly nutty taste. It is used to make a variety of dishes around the world. Cauliflower is a powerhouse of nutrients, rich in vitamins C and K, fiber and antioxidants, which support our immune system and digestion. It can be steamed, roasted, fried or even used as a low-carb alternative to rice or pizza crust. Today we will learn about one of the recipes made from it and learn how to make it:


Ingredients 

  • 1 medium cauliflower cut into small pieces

  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds

  • 2 tablespoons cashew nuts

  • 1 inch piece of ginger (10 grams)

  • 6 garlic cloves

  • 2 green chilies

  • ½ vegetable oil

  • 2 large onions grated

  • 2 medium tomatoes finely chopped

  • ½ teaspoon turmeric powder

  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder

  • ½ teaspoon cumin powder

  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder

  • ½ cup beaten curd

  • 4 cups water

  • Salt to taste

  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped coriander



Quick and Easy Masala Cauliflower

Method of making Masala Cauliflower

  • Take water in a vessel and add 2 teaspoons of salt to it. Now keep the cauliflower in the vessel for 30 minutes and then take it out.

  • After this, prepare a paste of poppy seeds and cashew nuts.

  • Heat oil in a pan, add onion and fry it till it turns golden.

  • Now add ginger, garlic and green chili paste and fry it well.

  • After this, add tomatoes, turmeric, coriander, cumin, red chilli and salt and mix well and cook it while stirring occasionally till the tomatoes become soft.

  • Now add one tablespoon of curd and fry till the curd mixes well with the spices. Similarly, add the remaining curd one spoon at a time and fry till the oil appears separately. It should take about 3 minutes. If the spices start burning, then you can add one to two spoons of water.

  • Now add Cauliflower and fry well. Add ½ glass of water and cover it and let it cook.

  • Cook it while stirring occasionally. When the Cauliflower is cooked, add cashew and poppy seed paste and cook on low flame. Cook it while stirring lightly for about 2 minutes. Garnish with green coriander and serve hot.
